Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a maritime offshore company for the recruitment of an Onshore Referrent Captain. The position is based in Port-Harcourt, Nigeria.
Job description
The Referrent Captain will be responsible for the evaluation, training, assist and support of a large number of pilots/captains and Able-seamen.

Responsibilities
1/ EVALUATION
- Evaluation will take place mainly offshore, preferably during operations on the field.
- Assesses pilots and Able Seamen based on approved Assessment Forms.
- Assesses trainees (newly recruited pilots) and validates end of training period.
- Assesses general status of the vessel (housekeeping, documentation etc)
- Makes recommendations for crew affectation in a category, for training and promotion.
- Makes recommendations to QHSE department to feed into training and B-Safe meetings.
- Updates accordingly the Assessment register.
- Makes appropriate planning to assess all crews who need to be covered.
- Assesses regularly cadets.
2/ TRAINING
- Coaches pilots and Able-seamen on areas designed by the skills standard (navigation, maneuvers, operations, safety, communication, behavior…)
- Provides expertise onshore or offshore.
- Coaches all crew on safety procedures, drills etc
- Trains crews and staff during maintenance phases: fender jobs, testing of navigation equipment, testing of safety equipments
- Promotes good housekeeping
3/ BASE SUPPORT
- Helps briefing and preparing crews before departure: understanding of sailing orders, transit guides, chart corrections…
- Conducts sea trials of new vessels and after maintenance jobs
- Inspect boat at arrival at base, brief crews met at the base on relevant topic
4/ CLIENTS RELATIONS
- When interacts with clients offshore, on site, explains Group approach on training and assessing crews, possibilities and limitations of vessels.
5/ TRAINING CENTRE ORGANISATION
- Provides weekly report to Master training center.
- Participates in regular training meetings.
- Contributes to assess training performance (impact)
- Contributes to monthly training reporting.
- Participates in establishing, and follows up on annual training planning.
- Assists Master training center in developing appropriate activities
Adexen Referrent Captain
Qualifications et experience
- Possess Marine Deck Officer Certificate of Competency
- Minimum of 5-8yrs seatime experience in the marine industry
- A previous experience in a similar position will be appreciated
- Possess the required Basic and Advanced mandatories
- Possess a valid International passport
- Possess a valid yellow card
- Possess a valid medical certificate
- Must be registered as a seafarer with NIMASA
- Possession of relevant additional qualification will be an added advantage
