AVAILABLE POSITIONS
(1) MARKETING/ ADVERT EXECUTIVES (MEDIA FIELD SALES):
We are looking for target orientated individuals with outgoing
personalities and a can-do attitude, who can demonstrate achievement
in a previous sales role. You will be focused on selling advertising
space within the publication. You will be a first class communicator
with excellent relationship building skills. You will be accustomed to
winning new business and closing the deal. Dealing with local business
and individuals you will see the advertisement through to completion.
This role will be mainly field base.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY
Source social event celebrants on a self sourcing leads basis for the
purpose of selling magazine pages to them.
You will recommend the best advertising package available; you will
plan creative campaigns with your clients. You will need to be focused
with a desire to succeed. You will promote spotlight international
magazine services at every given opportunity to form lasting
relationships with your customers to generate repeat business.
Maximise all sales opportunities by adopting a proactive selling
approach , utilise all available sales tools & deliver the company
sales process
You will maintain an accurate knowledge of the products & services of
spotlight international, including competitor pricing to ensure you
maximise the sales.
You will achieve company & personal set objectives , attend training
sessions, team meetings & other meetings as requested Demonstrate
flexibility to support the needs of the business

SKILLS

(2) EDITOR
This is a rare opportunity for a talented individual to join Spotlight
International Magazine. You’ll act as the ideas powerhouse of the
team, coming up with exciting and original ways of going behind the
headlines, engaging the readers and delivering award winning features
and covers for the magazine.
We are looking to hire an enthusiastic, ambitious and talented
individual with lots of ideas. Someone who is looking to work hard and
make an impact in an entrepreneurial and fast-growing company
KEY RESPONSIBILITY
The editor must be devoted to carrying out the editorial mission of
the magazine as defined by the publisher.
Through research, he must continuously re-examine the editorial
objectives of the magazine and make appropriate recommendations for
changes to reposition the magazine to continue to serve the interests
of readers.
The editor must be imbued with the idea of communicating with the
readers and potential readers by making the magazine as useful and as
readable as possible.
You will be responsible for; Authoring Content, Approving Content and
also Evaluation and providing Feedback.
Chase copy and photos and undertake fact-checking.
Handle scheduling and help plan forward features lists.
Take responsibility for strategic development of publications.
Undertake business development and support new product launches.
SKILLS
Ability to plan the editorial content of the magazine for many months
ahead as well as meet frequent deadlines. (Essential)

A thorough understanding of the economics of magazines, the place of
editorial in the mix, and ways of controlling costs. (Essential)
EXPERIENCE
Experience and proven tract record of writing features that stand out
from the crowd, (Essential)
Experience of writing and/or editing features on a business to
business title would be a major advantage; (Desirable)
Experience of sourcing information from outside authors, artists and
other relevant sources.
Extensive experience of writing content for publication on a Magazine
(Essential)
(3) DEPUTY/MANAGING EDITOR:
Coordinates editorial, art and production to ensure that magazine is
turning out each issue in acceptable form and on time.
Supervises copy editing and proofreading to ensure that the magazine
is factually and grammatically correct.
In charge of making sure that broad plans are in place for editorial
content for at least six months in advance.
Responsible for planning and writing features in specialty areas.
Supervises assistant editors, freelance writers, designers and photographers.
(4) STAFF WRITERS:
Research, write and edit materials in assigned subject areas.
Cover functions and events for the publication.
Keep current on magazines and newspapers in subject areas assigned.
(5) PRODUCTION MANAGER/ ART DIRECTOR:
In charge of planning and executing the graphics for the magazine.
Oversees photography, illustrations and art production.
(6) PHOTOGRAPHERS:
Attend live functions and events to take photographs.
Confident in the use of modern photographic equipment and computers.
Build and maintain a photo library.
Research and source photographs for the editorial and art departments.
(7) DESIGNERS:
This individual will be actively responsible for and an integral part
of creating, managing the design and formatting of the magazine Work
with the editors to ensure that the pages are professionally arranged
to appeal to readers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carry out the production design and print ready artwork for
publication. Implementation and finalization of final artwork and
typesetting for the magazine before publishing
Ensure high visual impact presentations
SKILLS
Be able to produce creative page designs that are of the highest
quality for publication
Creative – to keep ahead of competitors by helping to develop
innovative solutions and by facilitating others and be able to think
outside of the box
Excellent Interpersonal skills – bids by their nature require frequent interchange of information and interaction with others. You must be able to demonstrate that you are a excellent communicator and team player
KNOWLEDGE
Degree would be highly desirable but not essential Competent with the
use of InDesign, Quark Illustrator, Photoshop, Powerpoint and ideally
Flash (Desirable)
EXPERIENCE
Experience of working under pressure and still delivering a great design.
Experience of working as a designer, with the ability to represent
their creative designs interactively.
Experience designing pages and layout of professional magazines
( 8 ) SUB-EDITORS:
Copyedits, proofreads and prepares copy for the printer
Responsible for accuracy and flow of copy through the editorial
department to the printer
(9) CIRCULATION MANAGER:
Coordinates circulation marketing efforts and all record keeping
concerning circulation.
Ensures that all subscriptions are fulfilled.
In charge of al single-copy sales.
Develop relations with national distributors, wholesalers and
retailers connected with the system.
Must be creative in developing new strategies to increase circulation.
