Advans is seeking Deputy Chief Operating Officer - F/M to assist and work under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer and with the support of Horus's head-office.

Job Title: Deputy Chief Operating Officer - F/M

Horus Development Finance has been working for 15 years in consulting for microfinance institutions (MFIs) in partnership with large international donors (World Bank, AFD, KfW). Over the last years, Horus has been involved in the creation of MFIs in Africa and Asia. In the upcoming 5 years, more than 10 new institutions will be created (Advans Group), for which Horus is among other things responsible for the implementation of the Management Information System.

Background:
Together with several Development finance institutions (EIB, KfW, FMO, AFD, IFC, CDC), Horus created Advans, a network of financial institutions in developing and emerging countries (Asia & Africa) offering financial services to micro, small and medium
sized enterprises (MSMEs).

Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Assist the COO in: the commercial operations of Advans Nigeria; the organization of market studies, the definition and implementation of new financial products; the supervision of the branch network's expansion in the country; the setting up of the required organization, policies and processes in order to achieve the operational objectives defined in the Business Plan; the achievement of the Business Plan;
• In accordance with Horus's mandate, and with the Chief Operating Officer's support, the Deputy COO of Advans Nigeria will participate in commercials teams' recruitment and training.

Qualifications:
• Degree in management
/accounting/finance;
• Fluency in English, reading and understanding French is appreciated;
• At least 3 years’ experience, including an experience in an operational job within a financial institution or a development program;
• Experience in microfinance, especially in credit methodology;
• Rigorous, analytical, with management and organizational skills;
• Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and conflict management skills.

Job Title: Chief Operating Officer

Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer and with the support of Horus’ head-office, the COO will be in charge of: the commercial operations of Advans Nigeria; the organization of market studies, the definition and implementation of new financial products
• The recruitment and training of commercial staff; the supervision of the branch network’s expansion in the country; the setting up of the required organization, policies and processes to achieve the operational objectives defined in the business plan; the achievement of the business plan;
• In accordance with Horus’ mandate, and together with the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Financial Officer, the COO of Advans Nigeria will identify, recruit and train a local management team which will progressively take over the management of the institution.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree or equivalent in management/accounting/finance;
• Fluency in English, reading and understanding French is appreciated;
• At least 5 years’ experience, including 3 years in an operational position within a financial institution or a development program;
• Successful experience in microfinance or SME finance and particularly in credit methodology;
• Successful experience in management and in network and sales coordination;
• Successful experience in teams and managers training;
• Strong willingness to work in the field;
• Rigorous, analytical, with management, organizational and writing skills, and;
• Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and conflict management skills, resistance to stress.

Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer and with the support of Horus’ Headoffice, the CFO will be in charge of the management of the administrative and financial operations of Advans Nigeria;
• In accordance with Horus’ mandate, and together with the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Operating Officer, the CFO of Advans Nigeria will identify, recruit, organize and train a management team which will progressively take over the management of the microfinance bank.

Qualifications:
• Degree in management/accounting/finance;
• Proficient with accounting software, accounting, financial audit, budget preparation and monitoring, treasury management;
• At least 5 years’ experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in the microfinance or banking sectors, including 3 years in management positions;
• Fluency in English, reading and understanding French is appreciated;
• Rigorous, analytical, with sound managerial and organizational skills;
• Excellent interpersonal, coaching, mentoring and conflict management skills.

Job Title: Chief Executive Officer

• Creation and development of the institution, for the definition and implementation of its strategy and the achievement of outreach and financial sustainability targets agreed in the business plan, while maintaining sound risk management principles;
• Work under the supervision of the Board of Directors and with the support of Horus's head-office; will be in charge of the overall supervision of the institution, management of operations, securing adequate financial resources;
• Maintaining good relations with local partners and authorities.
Qualifications:
Masters degree in management/accounting/finance;
• Fluency in English, reading and understanding of French is appreciated;
• 10 to 15 years of work experience including at least 5 years in high level management positions in microfinance or the banking sector;
• Work experience in developing countries;
• Successful experience in microfinance is appreciated;
• Successful professional experience in the management of a commercial venture;
• Excellent entrepreneurial, leadership, planning and organization skills, result-oriented, rigorous, analytical;
• Excellent interpersonal, coaching, mentoring and conflict management skills, stress resistant, resilient.
