We are currently putting together a team for another major DFID-funded project working in Nigeria. The proposed project will primarily be focus on the wholesale and retail sector in Nigeria. It will apply a market development approach to enhancing income opportunities for poor people and better integrating them into markets. It will have a particular focus on women.

KEY PROJECT OUTCOMES WOULD BE THAT:
Underlying constraints within key market systems are addressed successfully, particularly those relevant for poor people, especially poor women;
Key stakeholders pursue effective and systemic approaches to economic development.

THE POSITION
We are looking to recruit a special Team Leader with market development experience and a solid understanding of M4P. You will also have:

Over 10 years’ experience in the wholesale and retail industry, preferably food and beverage sector;
Strong networking and relationship management skills as well as project management expertise;
Expert local knowledge of the Nigerian wholesale and retail sector;
Some knowledge of grant management as well as financial management.

Job Title: Accountant

The Role

The successful candidate will report to the Chief Accountant in our Head Office and will be responsible for preparing timely and quality accounting reports, back up accounting figures with relevant schedules and also manage a small team of subordinates in order to achieve departmental goals.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have (or meet ) the following:

§ Minimum of B.SC degree, second class honours (lower division) in Accounting or related courses

At least 3 years experience in a large manufacturing organization

Professional qualification (ACCA or ACA) is a major advantage

Ability to use Advanced Excel Package, MS Word and PowerPoint will be an advantage

Evidence of having participated in the NYSC Scheme or Exemption

Not more than 40 years as at 1st January, 2011
