In 2007, SAPETRO acquired a 350 km2 seismic data over the acreage and by the end of the 1st quarter of 2009, had drilled two appraisal wells in the Seme field. SAPETRO is currently carrying out detailed Reservoir Studies on the Field.

South Atlantic Petroleum Limited (SAPETRO) is a Nigerian Oil Exploration and Production Company that was created in 1995 by General T. Y. Danjuma. At the time of SAPETRO’s inception General Danjuma had over 25 years of business experience from his very successful shipping agency and terminal operator, NAL-Cometas well as relevant expertise having spent seven years as chairman of the Board of Directors of Agip Nigeria Plc until 1995.
The ministry of Petroleum Resources awarded the Oil Prospecting License (OPL) 246 to SAPETRO in February, 1998. The block covers a total area of 2,590km2 (1,000 sq. miles) and lies 120-160km due South of Port Harcourt, in water depths of about 1,100m-1,800m. SAPETRO partnered with Total Upstream Nigeria Ltd (TUPNI), andBrasoil Oil Services Company Nigeria Ltd (Petrobras) to start prospection on OPL246. South Atlantic Petroleum Benin S.A a subsidiary of South Atlantic Petroleum Limited was incorporated in 2004 and in the same year, won, through a competitive bidding process, the shallow water Block I and Seme oil field Exploration Contract, offshore Republic of Benin, West Africa. The combined acreage extends over 550 km2 adjacent to Nigeria/Benin international boundary in water depth of up to 100m with a Joint Venture arrangement between SAPETRO and the Government of the Republic of Benin, SAPETRO being the Operator.

Job Title: Engineering Manager
The candidate shall be responsible for all Engineering activities of the Company and is expected to execute the following:
- Plan, co-ordinate and manage all engineering projects in the upstream sector of the oil & gas industry relating to the following:
• Surface and subsea facilities
• Conceptual design, FEEF and detailed engineering design
• Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and commissioning
- Co-ordinate the preparation scope of Work and budget for projects
- Manage the project execution activities to ensure they are implemented within budget and schedule
- Design and execute tendering processes
- Manage relationships with contractors
- Supervise and provide leadership to staff Engineers
- Ensure that all data and reports related to Engineers
- Ensure that all reports are prepared and submitted to all relevant authorities
- Obtain in time all necessary approvals from all relevant authorities
- Maintain good working relationships with Government agencies
Requirements
- B.Sc (minimum of a 2nd class upper) in any Engineering discipline
- Approximately 15 – 20 years relevant experience in experience in Engineering Projects within the Oil and Gas industry
- Good knowledge of construction activities management, procurement, logistics and supply chain
- Good knowledge of onshore/offshore production facilities and maintenance
- Well organized and safety conscious
- Good project management skills
- Good leadership and supervisory skills
- Good people management and relationship skills
- Ability to speak French would be an advantage
