REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

a.   Professor         -       MUASSS 7

A good honors degree and a Ph.D. degree in the relevant field and at least twelve (12) years of teaching and research experience in a University or Institution of comparable status. Evidence of substantial scholarly publications in reputable journals and ability to initiate and develop courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Candidates must also be able to initiate projects, possess some administrative experience as well as experience in working with interdisciplinary groups. Successful applicants must also be able to give academic and professional leadership in the field.



b.   Senior Lecturer     -      MUASSS 5

A candidate for this post must possess a good honours degree and a Ph.D degree in the specified field plus at least six (6) years of teaching and research experience in a university or an institution of comparable status. Candidates must have the ability to initiate research work and to supervise post-graduate projects. Evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals is also required.

c.   Lecturer I               MUASSS 4

Same as Senior Lecturer except that the candidate should have at least five (5) years of post doctoral teaching and research experience in a university or an institution of comparable status.

d.   Lecturer II       -        MUASSS 3

Candidates should possess a good honours degree and a Ph.D degree in the specified field of specialization from a recognized university. Candidates with Masters Degree must have at least three (3) years of teaching and research experience in a university or in an institution of comparable status and must show evidence of registration for a Ph.D programme. Evidence of scholarly publications will be an advantage.

e.   Senior Librarian     -      MUASSS 4

Candidates should possess a Master’s degree in Library/Archive and Information Science from a recognized University with at least six (6) years of relevant post qualification experience in an academic/research library system. Candidates must also show evidence of considerable scholarship and thorough understanding of the application of new technologies to library operations and services e.g. cataloguing and classification, information literacy, and on-line information service. Candidates will be required to show sufficient evidence of contribution to knowledge through research and scholarly publications in reputable journals.


f.   Librarian I         -      MUASSS 3

Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from a recognized University with at least three (3) years of relevant post qualification experience in an academic/research library system. Computer literacy and application of ICT to acquisition work are essential requirements.

SALARIES AND ALLOWANCES

McPherson University runs a remuneration package which is comparable to what obtains in public Universities in Nigeria. The basic salaries are as follows:

A Higher Degree in a relevant Discipline will be an advantage.

ii.   Senior Assistant Registrar   -    MUNTSSS  11

Candidate must possess a good honours degree from a recognized University with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption. A minimum of 9 years post-qualification experience most of which must be in University Administration is required. Candidate must be computer literate.


iii.   Assistant Registrar     -      MUNTSSS  9

Candidate must possess a first degree from a recognized University with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption. A minimum of six (6) years post NYSC experience is required for this post. Candidate must be computer literate.

iv.   Administrative Officer I     -      MUNTSSS  8

The requirements for this post are as for Assistant Registrar but with three (3) years post NYSC experience. Candidate must be Computer Literate.

v.   Personal Assistant II           MUNTSSS  7
Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s degree (B.A/B.Tech/B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma in Secretariat Studies or Office Technology and Management from a recognized institution plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption.
Candidates with Ordinary National Diploma in the Disciplines listed above may also apply provided they possess a minimum of six (6) years relevant work experience.

vi.   Personal Assistant III     -      MUNTSSS  6

Candidate must possess Ordinary Diploma (OND) in Secretarial Studies, Administration/Office Technology and Management from a recognized institution. A minimum of three (3) years relevant post qualification experience is required.

2.   BURSARY           -        MUNTSSS 13  

i.   Chief Accountant
A candidate for this post must possess a first degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognized University with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption. Candidate must also have a minimum of twelve years post qualification experience most of which must be in a tertiary institution. In addition, candidate must be fully registered with ICAN, ANAN or other recognized relevant professional bodies of equivalent status.
A Higher Degree will be an advantage.

ii.   Senior Accountant     -      MUNTSSS 9

A candidate for this post must possess a first degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognized University with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption. A minimum of six years post-qualification experience is required. Candidate must have registered with ICAN, ANAN or other relevant, recognized professional bodies of equivalent status.

iii.   Higher Executive Officer (Accounts)  -   MUNTSSS 7

Candidate must posses a Higher National Diploma (HND) Accounts with a minimum of lower credit from a recognized institution plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption. Previous (Accounting) work experience will be an advantage.

Candidates with Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Accounts with a minimum of lower credit plus SSCE/WASC/NECO/GCE in five subjects including English and Mathematics may also apply provided they have not less than a minimum of six (6) years post-qualification experience.

iv.   Accounts / Administrative Assistant     MUNTSSS 4
Candidate must possess SSCE/WASC/NECO/GCE O/LEVEL Certificate with at least credits in English Language, Mathematics and Principles of Accounts / Book-Keeping plus 3 years relevant experience.

3.    UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTRE

i.   Medical Officer         -      MUNTSSS  10

Candidate must possess M.B.B.S or its equivalent with the completion of one year Housemanship and National Youth Service. Candidate should be registered with the Nigeria Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.

ii.   Pharmacist        -         MUNTSSS  8

Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized University with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption. In addition, candidate must be duly registered with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria.

iii.   Pharmacy Technician      -     MUNTSSS 6

Candidates must possess SSCE/WASC/NECO/GCE O’Level in 5 subjects with credits in Chemistry and Biology plus Pharmacy Technician’s Certificate from an accredited College of Health Technology. Previous relevant work experience will be an advantage.

iv.   Pharmacy Assistant           MUNTSSS 4
Candidate must possess SSCE/WASC/NECO/GCE O’Level in 5 subjects with credits in Chemistry and Biology plus four (4) years relevant experience

v.   Nursing Officer I        -       MUNTSSS 8

Candidate must be a Registered Nurse/Midwife. Additional qualifications in Public Health or Accident and Emergency Nursing will be an advantage.
Candidate for the post must have a minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience.

vi.   Nursing Officer II       -        MUNTSSS 7

Required qualifications are as for Nursing Officer I but candidate must have four (4) years post-qualification experience.

vii.   Nursing Assistant IV     -      MUNTSSS 3

Candidate must have WASC/NECO/ GCE O’ level credits in the relevant subjects and a Certificate from the School of Health Technology.


4.   ICT CENTRE

Candidate must have HND or B.Sc. or B.Tech. or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or any other relevant discipline but with a minimum of six (6) years relevant post qualification experience in web-design and management. Relevant professional certification will be required.


5.   DEPARTMENT OF WORKS AND PHYSICAL PLANNING

i.   Chief Engineer      -         MUNTSSS  13

Candidate must possess a B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption. Candidate must be duly registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). A minimum of 12 years post-qualification experience is required for this post.

ii.   Technical Officer       -        MUNTSSS  6

Ordinary National Diploma in Town and Regional Planning, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering from a recognized institution plus a minimum of three (3) years post-qualification experience.

iii.   Drivers             -        MUNTSSS  3

Candidates must possess Junior Secondary School Certificate with valid Class E Drivers Licence and Trade Test III (Driver/Mechanic) plus three years experience.


6.   COLLEGE OF NATURAL AND APPLIED SCIENCES

Candidate must possess a good HND qualification, a B.Sc. or B. Tech Degree in the relevant discipline plus five (5) years post qualification experience. Candidates must be registered with the Nigerian Institute of Science Laboratory and Technology(NISLT).

Candidates must possess OND in the relevant discipline OR Part I Technician’s Certificate of the City and Guilds OR the Intermediate Certificate of the N.I.S.T. in the relevant discipline. Previous work experience in Laboratory Technology will be an advantage.

Candidate should possess WASC/NECO/ GCE O’ level, in five (5) subjects including English Language and at least two Science subjects.

Candidate for this position must possess a Diploma in Library and Information Science from a recognized institution. Computer Literacy and experience in a virtual library environment are required.

Candidate must possess SSCE/WASC/NECO/GCE O’Level in five subjects including credits in English and Mathematics plus a minimum of 3 years work experience.

The requirements for this post are as for Library Assistant III but previous work experience will only be an advantage.
