Roc Da Mic Background

Roc Da Mic is the first ever hip hop/alternative Nigerian music reality show. It seeks to expose the abundance of musical talent that can be found in Nigeria.

Roc Da Mic intends creating a platform for emerging trends and producing talent that can stand out in the crowd but still, with a blend of originality provide a fresh infusion of sound to the music scene.

Nigerian youths have over the years identified with hip hop, and the genre has grown over the last ten years and is currently one if not the biggest genre loved by Nigerian youths. Hip hop has grown so big that the Nigerian music scene has enjoyed an abundance of hip hop stars who have been able to keep their hip hop fresh and on point while still infusing indigenous sounds, languages etc. Truth be said hip hop rules the music scene in Nigeria, not a day goes by without one new talent or the other been discovered . Its common place to see youths showing off their ability to rap, freestyle, rhyme or spit lyrics, it is therefore sad that there has never been a television show that has targeted this huge demography. Roc da Mic intends to finally put hiphop/alternative Nigerian music out there and create the platform that is needed to push this genre forward.

The Next Movie Star 2010 Reality TV Show Registration Form and Auditions

The Next Movie Star TV Reality Show has established itself as one of the most watched program on TV, this much was attested to by viewers who watched and interacted with the program throughout the show on TV. It was the biggest and most exciting reality show on TV in Nigeria, Ghana and several African Countries since 2005.

Kingsley Ogboso [a male Dancer and Choreographer] emerged as the overall winner of the maiden edition of the reality show while Porttia Yamahan [a multitalented act] won the 2006 edition of the reality show.

The 2007 edition was not just a Nigerian Show, it included 7 housemates from Ghana and 9 from Nigeria making the first Original TV Reality Content Format exported from Nigeria. The 2007 edition was won by a Ghanaian, ENOCH HAMMOND who had the honour to receive his prize from The Chairman of The African Union and President of Ghana at the time John Kuffour.

West Africans were very excited when The Next Movie Star announced participation and inclusion of more countries in the 2008 and 2009 editions of the show. They were not disappointed one bit; lots of young people came out in thousands for auditions in each of the participating countries i.e. Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia and The Gambia.

Qualified people were selected, trained and flown to Nigeria for the main show. Sponsors emerged from each country and the show was a very big success, re-enforcing itself as one of the most beautiful TV Content created from Africa. The 2008 edition was won by Avenette T. Sirleaf, a young Liberian lady who is currently working on some movie and drama projects and the 2009 edition was won by a young Nigerian Banker, Oyindamola Odesola who is currently working on major productions with established Nollywood Acts

Digital Interactive Media is the owner and creator of The Next Movie Star TV Reality Show. One of the major strong points of the show is the exciting events that have become a culture, from the audition stages till the end of the show, there are about 8 Major Events that commands the right audience, hence an opportunity for brands to leverage.

Audition
The Nigerian Auditions will take place in Lagos, Abuja, PH and Enugu for 2days each and the final audition will take place in Lagos for 2days.Each of the auditions will command about 500 Attendance and usually coordinated by top & popular actors who will serve as judges. As the name goes, eviction party is the event that celebrates the evicted housemates. Three Eviction parties will be held in the course of the show, each eviction party is special in itself because the housemates that are been evicted will also have the opportunity to select the artistes they want to perform at the event. Additionally, family, friends & fans will also have the opportunity to attend the event. The event is usually done with all the glamour and standards of such upscale affair. Other attractions include all the glamour of a red carpet event, fireworks e.t.c.
