Qualification and Experience for Academic Staff.
Professor: PhD degree with at least 10 years post-qualification experience in University
teaching and research in the relevant fields. Candidates must have good record of scholarly
publications along with evidence of considerable teaching and research, demonstrable capacity
for academic leadership as well as proficiency in ICT. Candidates are expected to be registered
with various recognized professional bodies, as applicable.
Associate Professor: PhD degree with at least 8 years post-qualification experience in
University teaching and experience in relevant fields. Other conditions are as for Professor.
Senior Lecturer: PhD degree with at least 5 years post-qualification cognate experience
buttressed with a suitable number of publications and ICT proficiency.
Lecturer I: PhD degree with at least 3 years teaching and research experience along with a
suitable number of publications and ICT proficiency.
Lecturer II: Fresh PhD graduate in relevant field or in exceptional cases, candidates with good
Master’s degree, who have advanced in their doctoral programmes. Evidence of research
capability and ICT proficiency are required.
Assistant Lecturer: A good Master’s degree with evidence of current registration for the
Doctoral degree in a reputable University. Progress report on PhD programme and ICT

Qualification and Experience for Non-Teaching Staff.
1. Director of Works and Physical Planning:
Director of Works shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day to day administration of the Works and Physical Planning
directorate. The appointee should exhibit considerable ability to control and coordinate operations of engineering, technical and professional nature in the university estate.
Applicant must possess a good honours degree in the field of Engineering or Architecture from a recognized university. Membership of the professional regulatory body (COREN, ARCON, NIA) is required. In addition, the Candidate must have at least fifteen (15) years cognate post-qualification working experience most of which preferably should be in services related to a university works/physical planning department.
2. Secretary
A good first degree or HND in Secretarial Studies with minimum of 3 years working experience and ICT proficiency. Membership of relevant professional body or an MBA will be an added advantage.
3. Senior Assistant Registrar
Candidates must possess good honors degree (minimum of second class lower division) in a Social/ Management Science or Humanities field of study from a recognized
university with at least 8 years of cognate professional experience. Must be computer literate.
4. Assistant Registrar
Candidates must possess good honors degree (minimum of second class lower division) in a social/Management science or Humanities field of study from a recognized university with at least 5 years of cognate professional experience. Must be computer literate.
5. Administrative Officer I
Candidates must possess good honors degree (minimum of second class lower division) in a social/Management science or Humanities field of study from a recognized
university with at least 2years of cognate professional experience. Must be computer literate.
6. Administrative Officer II
Candidates must possess good honors degree (minimum of second class lower division) in a Social/Management Science or Humanities field of study from a recognized university. Must be computer literate.

HND in Public Administration/OND or NCE in Public Administration with minimum of 2years post qualification experience in tertiary institution for HEOs/EOs.
More years of cognate experience will be required for PEOs and SEOs. Must be computer literate.

SSCE/WAEC/NECO/GCE O’Level with 5 credit level passes including English Language and Mathematics at not more than 2 sittings.

Good typing skill with minimum of 25WPM plus five SSCE Credit level passes including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings.

and 5 years for Senior Accountants. First degree/HND plus Professional Qualification

A good honours degree and a Master’s degree in Library Studies /Information Science

18. Systems Librarian
A good honours degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Informatics or any other relevant discipline with formal training in system analysis and computer
programming. In addition, candidates must be versed in the use of LINUX and Windows Operating Systems. Experience in networking, use of library software/
electronic library packages and systems maintenance will enhance the prospects of candidates.

A good honours degree in Library and Information Science plus MLS and 3years
cognate work experience in a university library.
20. Library Officer
Diploma in library studies (DLS) in addition to five credit level passes in SSCCE
including English Language.

SSCE/WAEC/NECO/ GCE O’Level with five Credit level passes including English Language.

A good honours degree in Computer Science or related discipline with formal training
in systems analysis and computer programming. Not less than four years cognate
experience in system analysis and design as well as computer application is required.

A good honours degree in Computer Science/Informatics or related discipline.
32. System Engineer
A good honours degree in Computer Engineering with COREN registration and a
minimum of 2years cognate experience.

34. Sports Administrator/ Coach
A good honours degree in Physical Education/Sport Science or related discipline with
qualification in sports organization and management. Experience in management of
sports in tertiary institution is added advantage. Must be computer literate.
35. Medical Officer
A holder of MBBS fully registered with Nigerian Medical Council and at least 3years
post qualification experience or a Candidate with postgraduate qualification in Medicine. Must be computer literate.
36. Nursing Officer
NRN or NRM or their equivalents will be acceptable. Evidence of registration with
Nursing and Midwife Council of Nigeria is essential. BSc in Nursing Science will be an
added advantage. At least 3 years of post qualification experience is desired. Must be computer literate.
37. Principal Security Officer
A good honours degree in Criminology/Sociology/Security studies with evidence of
intensive security training or service in an arm of the armed forces or paramilitary
organizations with a minimum of 10 years experience. Candidates should not be above 45 years old. Must be computer literate.
38. Security Officers/ Assistant Security Officers.
A good honours degree plus 2 years experience in addition to a certificate in Security
service. OND plus 2 years experience and a certificate in Security service will be
accepted for position of Assistant Security Officer. Must be computer literate.
39. Internal Auditor
A good honours degree in Accounting with relevant experience. Or HND plus
Professional Qualification with at least 1 year relevant experience. Must be computer literate.

A good honours degree in Agronomy/Crop Science Production/Farm management or

training in Ornamental Gardening or Floriculture. A minimum of 2 years work

A minimum of OND in Crop Science/ Production, Agronomy, Horticulture, Animal
Science or General Agriculture. Proficiency in the application of farm techniques for

45. University Chaplain
BA, MA and PhD in religious studies or Theology from a reputable university with not
less than 5 years in Pastoral/Eldership Ministry in The Apostolic Church. Applicants
who are not suitable for lectureship job in Religious Studies will not be considered. Must

BSc/HND in Arts or Social Sciences with not less than 3 years cognate experience. Must

49. Science Laboratory Technologists (Chief Technologist/Technologist I/II)
B Tech/HND in Science Laboratory Technology and Associate membership of the
Nigerian Institute of Laboratory Technologists (ANIST) with at least 12 years post
qualification experience for Chief Technologist and respective cognate experience for
others. Must be computer literate.
50. Laboratory Assistant
A minimum of OND in Science Laboratory Technologist. Proficiency in practical
laboratory techniques is added advantage. Must be computer literate.

SSCE/WAEC/NECO/ GCE O’Level with five Credit level passes in English Language,

6 years cognate experience in the building industry. Membership of NSE is an added

A good first degree in architecture plus registration with relevant professional bodies
and minimum of four years cognate experience in the building industry. Must be

A good first degree in Building Technology/Engineering plus professional
qualifications as well as registration with professional bodies. A minimum of four years
