UNDP has been in Nigeria since the country became independent in 1960. In the last programme cycle (2003-2008), UNDP provided capacity building and policy development support to the Federal Government and 21 states drawn from the six geo-political zones in four programme areas: Governance & Human Rights; Poverty Reduction; HIV & AIDS; and Energy & Environment.

Current Opening:
Monitoring & Evaluation Management Officer (Kaduna):

Provides leadership in managing all aspects of the programme’s monitoring and evaluation and knowledge management components in Kaduna State, by developing indicators and formats for supporting the collection, analysis, and arching of information covering all programme activities. Collaborates with the State Ministry of Health and other related agencies and stakeholders to strengthen state-level M&E and knowledge management systems.

Qualification Requirements:
Include a Master Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Demography, Statistics, or other relevant social science or research field, plus at least six years of professional experience in monitoring and evaluation, information management, or other relevant health-related analytic experience

Project Driver (Kaduna and Jigawa):
Performs the operations, maintenance and management of project vehicles, including routine maintenance, registration, tagging, as well as providing transportation for project activities for National/Federal headquarter team. Perform project routine business in the specific state office, such as receiving and delivering official project documentation.

Qualification Requirement:
Includes valid Nigerian driver’s license, plus at least six months prior experience in commercial driving, completion of Secondary School is highly desirable. Excellent driving record and experience in traveling trough Kadua and Jigawa and other key cities.

Duties And Responsilities
The driver/ clerk position in the office fall under direct supervision of the administrative officer/ assistant. He/she will be responsible for up keep and maintenance of the assigned UNHCR vehicle(s) as per technical guidance and specifications established by the organisation. He/She is required to follow strict instructions and security guidance provided by !he supervisor. In addition, the incumbent is also required to perform assigned clerical/ maintenance tasks. The specific functions include:

1. Drive UNHCR vehicles for various official mission, courier services and for other official assignments; as and when transport service is provided to officials passengers (almost always UNHCR/ UN officials or otherwise authorized persons by the Administrative Officer). it is the incumbents responsibility to ensure that the passengers follow the standard security measures during the journey;
2. Provide assistance to the UNHCRJUN staff at the immigration and entry/exit points to the country; it involves providing guidance in customs clearance and assisting in immigration formalities;
3. Be responsible for UNHCR courier/ pouch service and other errands that maybe required within the administration of the office;
4. Ensure that all UNHCR vehicles are road worthy and are maintained up to be established security standards; in case a vehicle(s) is not up to standard, he/she should bring it to the immediate attention of the Office administration;
5. Be responsible for the vehicle log book: it requires that the incumbent record/ register all travel and during assignments as per established record (log) book. Failure to have an up to date and accurate log book is considered as violation of driving code of the office;

Qualifications
• Education and Skills: Completion of the Secondary Education With fluency in the reading, writing and comprehension of the local language(s).
• Valid national driving license with a minimum of 4 years accident free experience in motor car and 4 wheels drive vehicles for an International organisation or a reputed government/ private establishment
• Sound knowledge in motor car maintenance and routine mechanical repairs.
• Practical knowledge of UNHCR, its functions and responsibilities.
• Proven ability to deal with multiple tasks in a courteous and service oriented manner in demanding working conditions.
• Exposure to routine administrative and maintenance functions of UNHCR country

Experience
Four years of progressively responsible Driver! Clerk in International Organisation. Formal training in motor mechanics and vehicle maintenance.

Language
Good knowledge of the local language(s) and the working knowledge in English and/or French.

Job Title: Drivers – Ics 02 (6 Positions)
Type of Contract: Fixed Term Appointments (FTA)
Duty Stations: Sub-Office in Umuahia (2 Posts)
Sub-Office in Kaduna (2 Posts)
Sub-Office in Lagos (2 Posts)
Duration: One year, with possible renewal subject to performance

Duties And Responsibilities
- The incumbent works under the general supervision of the Head, UNFPA Sub-office and provides
logistics support to the successful implementation of activities in the sub-office.
-
ƒ Drives Sub-office vehicle for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items
-ƒ Meets
official personnel at the airport and facilitates immigration and customs formalities as required;
-
ƒ Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tyres etc; performs minor repairs and arranges for other repairs and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean;
ƒ- Logs official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, etc;
ƒ- Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accident;
-ƒ Rep
ort to the Head of Sub-Office any fault detected in any of the UNFPA vehicles;
-
ƒ Photocopy mails and other official documents as may be required in the office or during workshops/seminars;
-ƒ Distributes mails as appropriate to all staff within the office
and to government and NGO
offices directly involved with UNFPA in the implementation of the Country Programme;
ƒ- Maintain records on travel in order to facilitate efficient tracking and monitoring.
-ƒ Performs any other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications And Experience
The ideal candidate should:
™ Be a Nigerian national (male or female)
™ Possess at least Primary School Leaving Certificate
™ Possess valid professional driving license and Trade Test Certificate
™ Have the ability to read and write
English
™ Have a minimum of 5 years professional driving experience with a reputable organization
™ Have work history of at least 3 years in the UN system is desirable. 2
